Molly and Ryan a Real Wedding in Western North Carolina revisited.

Molly sent me a Facebook message the other day, letting me know that she and Ryan were coming back to the mountains for a visit and wanted to stop in for a small cake with their wedding flavors… well, that just started us remembering their wedding and how beautiful it was.So I asked her if she would allow me to share a few of their wedding photos with you and a few of her thoughts. Please enjoy.  Thank you so much Molly! What did you love the most about your wedding?     I’d say that the thing we loved first and foremost was our location.

Western NC is very special to us, and my mother and father also wed in the Chapel at Lake Junaluska (45 years ago!) getting married there was a childhood dream of mine and I grew up visiting, and walking down the aisle imagining my wedding there someday.

What was most special about your wedding planning?

My dress was a special part for me as I worked closely designing it with Leah Raveglia of the Etsy shop whiteromance and had full creative say, something I never imagined being able to do with my wedding dress! And your cake?

I hope you enjoyed your wedding cake as much as we did baking for you.

Our wedding cake topped the whole day off, we were so excited when we met you because we knew that you really listened to what we wanted, and we got exactly that! Our lemon and blueberry cake went perfectly with our blue and yellow theme, the hydrangeas topping it off from Polly’s Florist in Canton were gorgeous and (I may be impartial here) it was the best wedding cake I’ve EVER had. I’ve heard this since from several guests as well!

And of course, our photographer, CS Nelson was incredible.

Do you have any advice for next year’s brides?

As far as any advice to anyone getting married, keep it simple, be creative, and support small businesses! Nearly all of our decor, my dress, my flower girls dresses, even my husband’s wedding band were purchased from small/local businesses. It really made a difference dealing with people on such a personal level. We got exactly what we wanted and were made to feel so special.

The best part of the whole day though had to be marrying the most incredible, kind, funny man I’ve ever met. The wedding was just the beginning! =)
